Getting Back into the Running ThingAfter taking a few months off of running, I started back running. The reason for taking a few months off of running was due to my knees. My knees have been pretty bad every since starting cheerleading freshmen year and since then I have struggled to keep them fully healthy. It also doesn't help I hurt one of my knees a couple weeks ago. Apparently the athletic trainer thinks it could be my meniscus....I have been resting it as much as I can and I feel like its getting better so thats a good sign.
So the main reason for myself to get back into running is to train for a half-marathon I am doing on Thanksgiving Day in Atlanta. I ran the same race last year. Unfortunately because I didn't train for it and just showed up and did it, I ended up spraining my foot which took a couple of weeks to heal. This year I am training so I don't hurt myself and I want to do a better time. I believe I ran it in 1 hour and 54 minutes. I think I want to set my goal to run it in under 1 hour and 45 minutes. Its going to take a lot of work, but when it comes to physical fitness I enjoy a challenge.
This busy Tuesday is now done and I must get to bed; I have a 6 am practice tomorrow morning...and I'm already only going to get about 5 hours of sleep. I hope I can get up for it. Anyways, the week is almost half-way done. Keep pushing through and give it your best for you will be rewarded for your hard work.
