Getting Around Without a Car

If you're like me and not from Ohio, you might know my struggle.  To be more precise, if you're not from Ohio and don't have a car, you know my struggle. After a few weeks of living on campus you start to notice that if you need to buy something, you're going to have to drive to go get it.

For both my freshman and sophomore years I always got rides from friends when I needed to pick up groceries or buy a couple (actually a lot) of clothes. This was fine, I always gave them gas money and gifts to make up for the numerous trips throughout the year, but, I didn't like having to wait until my friends were out of food just to go to Kroger.

This year another one of my room mates bought a car so, tagging along isn't as hectic but I know I'm going to be making a lot more trips than the past two years (getting my hair cut and braided requires me to go way off campus, I want to go to more UD basketball games, etc.).

Looking into it for the first time since I've been here, I found out that we have shuttles that can take you to the major stops in Dayton like S. Dixie and Wal-Mart.

Plus, the RecPlex has RecBikes to help you get around to places that the shuttles may not cover.

Besides the obvious solution to buy a car, these services can help you get around.
