Stress before Thanksgiving

It’s that time of year again. We all know that finals week can get crazy but I’m here to talk about the other span of the semester than doesn’t get enough recognition: pre-Thanksgiving break.

The two to three weeks before the homey and feast filled Thanksgiving break is an insane time for students. Figuring out whether or not to drop a class, papers & projects that professors want right before, studying for midterms then transitioning into a new section only to take another test right after stuffing your face with turkey—it’s hectic.

During this stressful but unrecognized period, it is important to stay positive and healthy.

From personal experience here are some tips:

Meet with your advisors and professors: Staying in touch with your professors and advisors while you're going through a stressful time will allow them to help you get back on track if you're behind or just help them understand any differences in your behavior.

Visit the health center: When you get stressed out, your immune system can sometimes take a hit. Make sure you stay healthy.

Visit the counseling center: Mental health is just as important as physical help. Stay healthy in the same way.
