Thankful to be a Flyer

A few weeks ago, I was on the phone with my mentor.  She is a UD Alum who I connect with every couple of weeks to learn about both her time at UD and her career.  She recently said something that has stuck with me.

“I was just talking with my mom and we were talking about my time at Dayton, and saying how it really gave me everything I needed” – UD Alum Carolyn Teter.

Now more than ever, I have gained perspective and realized how grateful and lucky I am to attend University of Dayton.  It is a place that has turned into a home only after a short two+ years.  From every aspect, I believe UD has given me everything I need to succeed and I could not agree more with Carolyn.  I have grown academically, socially, and personally because of the opportunities that UD has given me.

It is a university that truly offers something for everyone.  I have had the privilege to learn from some of the most giving and hard working professors I know of, learn from experienced and intelligent advisors, and gain loyal and genuine friendships throughout my time at UD.  Study abroad, summer internships, on campus jobs, co-ops, service trips, faith based retreats, Greek Life, a top notch Rec-Plex, surprising decent and healthy cafeteria food, are just a few opportunities UD has provided me.

This holiday season I cannot express my appreciation for everything and everyone at UD.  That statement my mentor said will stick with me for a long time.  I hope no matter what university prospective students choose, they will find a home in their university just as much as I have found mine here at University of Dayton.
