Mac Monday: Apple Retail Store

Apple StoreWhile many were excited for the grand opening of the new Apple Retail Store at The Greene on July 19th, others are disappointed that this new store means the closing of the locally-owned authorized Apple re-seller store, MacDepot.  MacDepot, located in Kettering and co-founded in 1999 by Greg Herting, will be closing its doors on July 31st. Two other authorized Apple re-seller stores in the area, MacTown, have also been forced to close their doors this year as Apple prepared to open the new corporate location. The closures of these stores means UD students will no longer have free on-campus pickup and return for warranty services on Mac devices. Apple does provide mail-in service, but turn around will be longer than three days. The Apple Store’s Genius Bar may be used for repairs and customer support, and the store even provides training opportunities in the form of free workshops and one-on-one appointments. Learn about GarageBand, iMovie, and more by registering for a workshop at the new Apple Store’s website.
