DCGA Alumni Weekend - October 13 & 14, 2017

Please join us for this inaugural DCGA Alumni Weekend, which will include a series of events in which Davis Center alumni and guests are invited to participate.

Stock Pitch Finals - Friday Morning

Arrive early to see student teams go head-to-head in the final round of the second annual Richard P. & Susan P. Davis Stock Pitch Competition. The "final four," chosen to advance to this championship round in a preliminary session held two weeks prior, will present their pitches to a panel of judges in the Davis Center beginning at 9:00 a.m. Come watch the action, and perhaps pick up a smart stock tip or two!

Professional Speaker Day Keynote Address - Friday

Industry professionals will be addressing students in their classrooms on Thursday and Friday as a part of the Economic & Finance Department's annual Professional Speaker Day. This event will culminate in a keynote address by John Nersesian, CFP®, CIMA®, CIS, CPWA®, Senior Managing Director, Wealth Management Services at Nuveen in Chicago. An experienced financial advisor to corporate executives, affluent families and non-profit organizations, Mr. Nersesian was a First Vice President of Merrill Lynch Private Client Group prior to joining Nuveen Investments. While at Merrill Lynch he was also a leader of Advanced Training for Financial Consultants, providing training in comprehensive wealth management strategies and business development practices. Mr. Nersesian is a faculty member for the IMCA Certified Private Wealth Advisor Program.

Nersesian

UD President, Dr. Eric Spina, will introduce John Nersesian, who will speak at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, in Sears Recital Hall located in the Humanities Building. In "Behavioral Finance:  Money Over Mind," Mr. Nersesian will address the concept and types of behavioral biases, identify emotional investor behavior, and provide approaches to mitigate negative effects on returns. He'll go beyond the basics, outlining situations to look out for, and providing specific planning tools and processes to counteract various behaviors.

Reception & Dinner - Friday Evening

DCGA members and guests are invited to join Davis Center members and newly appointed SBA Dean, Dr. John Mittelstaedt, at a reception at Coco's Bistro at 250 Warren Street. Dinner will follow. An update on the Flyer Investments Fund will be provided. This event will begin at 6:30 p.m. on October 13. Cost is $40 per person.

Golf Outing - Saturday

Join us on the links at The Golf Club at Yankee Trace, 10000 Yankee St, Centerville, on Saturday, October 14. Check-in at 11:00. Tee times begin at noon. The cost is $60 per person, and includes:
18-Holes of Championship golf
Electric Golf Car
Practice Range Balls
Curbside Bag Service

Please note the Club's dress code:  To protect the rights and privileges of all persons at Yankee Trace, proper attire must be worn at all times on the golf course and on the practice facilities. Blue jeans, bathing attire, T-shirts, gym and tennis shorts, cut-off and short shirts, tank tops, halter tops and other similar dress are inappropriate. Bermuda length shorts, approximately 3 inches above the knee, are recommended. Collared shirts or mock necks are recommended. In order to provide the best playing surface possible, metal spiked shoes are prohibited.

Hole Sponsorship

Help subsidize student participation by sponsoring a hole for $200. This option includes a sign bearing the sponsor's name to be prominently displayed at one of the 18 tees. You may indicate sponsorship on the registration form.

Lodging
