Securities Analysis

The Securities Analysis Team works to familiarize team members with a variety of strategies for financial analysis, including qualitative research and financial modeling. Team members serve as supporting analysts for the Flyer Investments Fund by analyzing current holdings’ performance based on historic trends and comparison with industry peers. Additionally, the supporting analysts are responsible for introducing new investment ideas through the maintenance of a comprehensive watch list.

 

Russell Woehrmyer

Title:  Securities Analysis Team Leader
Hometown:  Mason, OH
Year:  Senior
Majors:  Finance & Accounting

During the summer of 2018, Russ interned at Goldman Sachs in Chicago. He worked in the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) within their investment bank. He was fortunate to help announce a $1B merger of equals during his time in the group. After graduation, Russ plans on pursuing a job in private equity or credit investing.

 

Eric Seals

Last summer, Eric interned with Robert W. Baird, serving as an analyst on their Energy Investment Banking Team. Eric recently accepted a full-time offer to return after graduation.

 

Emily Teutsch

Title:  Lead Academic Research Analyst
Hometown:  Hudson, OH
Year:  Junior
Major:  Accounting

During the summer of 2018, Emily studied abroad through the University of Dayton, spending time in Spain, Portugal, England, and Ireland. There, she took business courses taught by UD professors. Emily will graduate in Spring 2019 and will then intern with Ernst and Young in Cleveland, Ohio as a member of their central tax team. Emily will return to UD in the fall of 2019 to complete her Master of Professional Accountancy.

 

Michael Benevento

Last summer, Michael worked with GE Appliances in Louisville. After immersing himself in the technology space for a few months, he is now seeking to work in finance next summer.

 

Colin Cady

Majors:  Finance & Management Information Systems

During the summer of 2018, Colin worked at Butterfield Country Club as a shoe shiner.  He plans to study abroad in Rome, Italy, during this upcoming spring semester.  Before Colin leaves for Europe, he is going to search for an internship in the field of Finance for next summer.

 

Chris Flynn

Last summer, Chris interned with Roulston Investment Partners based out of Cleveland while also working as a team trainer at Target in Nashville. Next summer, Chris hopes to secure an internship in investment banking.

 

Ryan Fox

During the summer of 2018, Ryan studied abroad in Germany. This upcoming summer, he is looking to secure an internship in the equity research or financial modeling industries.

 

Heather Leuer

Major:  Mechanical Engineering

Heather spent the past summer interning with Ford Motor Company in Cleveland. She is looking forward to return to Ford in January, full-time, as a process engineer.

 

Mary Lorusso

Majors:  Accounting & Finance

Mary spent the summer of 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She continued her education through courses at the University of Cincinnati. Mary is excited to research internship opportunities in finance for summer 2019.

 

Brendan McDonnell

This past summer, Brendan interned with BlackRock's US wealth advisory group. Next year Brendan will be returning to BlackRock in the Boston office.

 

Hannah Nicholas

Title:  Valuation Analyst

Majors:  Finance & Operations Management

During the summer of 2018, Hannah served as the Team Lead at Next Step Ministries' site in Houston, Texas. While in Houston, she organized nine - one week long mission trips for over 950 people from all over the country. This school year, Hannah will be studying abroad in Angers, France in the fall and either Vienna, Austria or Gold Coast, Australia in the spring. Next summer, Hannah hopes to secure an internship in corporate social responsibility.

 

Kyle Phillips

Year:  Sophomore
Majors:  Finance & Accounting

During the summer of 2019, Kyle plans on working at a small mutual fund in Pasadena, California, where he will be part of the equity research and analysis team, getting valuable firsthand experience in the field of finance. Kyle is looking forward to this experience, and is excited about future opportunities that lie ahead.

 

Gino Sanfilippo

During the summer of 2018, Gino worked for the Public Works Department for his town. Next summer, Gino is planning on studying abroad and taking finance classes in Rome, Italy or securing an internship at an investment firm in the Chicago Area.

 

Evan Schatz

During the summer of 2018, Evan interned with Keybanc Capital Markets in Seattle, WA. His team operated within the Diversified Industries group with a focus in the Seafood Industry. Evan will be working for Keybanc Capital Markets as an Investment Banking Analyst starting in January of 2019.

 

Jake Willmann

Last summer, Jake spent his time at home in Cleveland where he ran a landscaping business for residential and commercial properties in the area. Next summer, Jake hopes to travel abroad.

 

Dan Wollenberg

Minor:  Business Economics

From January to March of 2018, Dan worked for Deloitte, providing year-end and statutory audit services for publicly traded, $9.36 and $4.4 B, financial and hospitality firms. Following Deloitte, Dan worked at Citadel from March to August in Treasury, with a focus on settlements. Dan will return to Citadel in the summer of 2019 as a Treasury Analyst in conjunction with taking the CPA/GMAT exams.
