Securities Analysis

The Securities Analysis Team works to familiarize team members with a variety of strategies for financial analysis, including qualitative research and financial modeling. Team members serve as supporting analysts for the Flyer Investments Fund by analyzing current holdings’ performance based on historic trends and comparison with industry peers. Additionally, the supporting analysts are responsible for introducing new investment ideas through the maintenance of a comprehensive watch list.

 

Russell Woehrmyer

Title:  Securities Analysis Team Leader
Hometown:  Mason, OH
Year:  Senior
Majors:  Finance & Accounting

Russell is a senior finance major at the University of Dayton. He is the Securities Analysis Team Leader and Health Care Sector Leader for the Davis Center for Portfolio Management. In addition to the Davis Center, Russell helps manage Global Platinum Securities, a value-based intercollegiate investment fund. Last summer, he interned at Goldman Sachs in Chicago within the Investment Banking Division. Following graduation, he will begin working for BlackRock Private Equity Partners as a Private Equity Analyst in Princeton, New Jersey. Private Equity Partners primarily co-invests alongside other financial sponsors across all sectors and industries. 

 

Eric Seals

Last summer, Eric interned with Robert W. Baird, serving as an analyst on their Energy Investment Banking Team. Eric recently accepted a full-time offer to return after graduation.

 

Emily Teutsch

Title:  Lead Academic Research Analyst
Hometown:  Hudson, OH
Year:  Junior
Major:  Accounting

During the summer of 2018, Emily studied abroad through the University of Dayton, spending time in Spain, Portugal, England, and Ireland. While overseas, she took business courses taught by UD professors. Emily is interning with The Walt Disney Company as a vacation planner at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this semester. During the summer ahead, she will be working as a central tax team intern for Ernst & Young in Cleveland. Emily will graduate with a degree in Accounting in December 2019 and will complete her Masters of Accountancy in Spring 2020. 

 

Michael Benevento

Last summer, Michael worked for GE Appliances in Louisville where he created and implemented several operational improvements to the company’s technology capabilities. He is spending the current semester backpacking throughout Southeast Asia while taking business classes and visiting companies, after which Michal is headed to New York City to intern with J.P. Morgan Asset Management over the summer ahead. There, he will work with portfolio managers and institutional clients to generate excess returns with a concentration in U.S. Equity markets. 

 

Colin Cady

During the summer of 2018, Colin worked at Butterfield Country Club. This semester, Colin is studying abroad in Rome, Italy. He hopes to secure a summer internship in the field of finance.

 

Chris Flynn

Last summer, Chris interned with Roulston Investment Partners of Cleveland, serving as an investment advisory intern. This summer, Chris will be interning with LFM Capital, a private equity investor focused on niche manufacturing and industrial services businesses.

 

Ryan Fox

Over the summer of 2018, Ryan studied abroad in Germany. He’s looking forward to interning in the investment services division of the  Bank of New York Mellon in Syracuse during the summer ahead.

 

Mary Lorusso

Mary spent the summer of 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She continued her education through courses at the University of Cincinnati. Mary is excited to research internship opportunities in finance for summer 2019.

 

Brendan McDonnell

Last summer, Brendan interned with BlackRock's US wealth advisory group in Princeton, New Jersey. He has accepted a full-time position in BlackRock’s Boston office following graduation.

 

Hannah Nicholas

Year:  Junior
Majors:  Finance & Operations Management

During the summer of 2018, Hannah served as the Team Lead at Next Step Ministries' site in Houston, Texas. While in Houston, she organized nine one-week long mission trips for over 950 people from all over the country. This school year, Hannah will be studying abroad in Angers, France, in the fall and Gold Coast, Australia, in the spring. Next summer, Hannah hopes to secure an internship in either corporate social responsibility or business ethics.

 

Kyle Phillips

Year:  Sophomore

Last summer, Kyle spent time in Pasadena, California, acquiring knowledge from a hedge fund called Walnut Oak Capital. During the summer of 2019, Kyle will enjoy working for the Wealth and Asset Management arm of Fifth Third Bank where he will provide much of the behind-the-scenes equity research that will be used by the company's financial advisors.

 

Gino Sanfilippo

During the summer of 2018, Gino worked for the Public Works Department for his town. Next summer, Gino is planning on studying abroad and taking finance classes in Rome, Italy or securing an internship at an investment firm in the Chicago Area.

 

Jake Willmann

Minor:  Military Science

Last summer, Jake spent his time at home in Cleveland where he ran a landscaping business for residential and commercial properties in the area. The summer of 2019 will find Jake studying abroad in Spain with the business school, after which he hopes to attend Airborne or Air Assault school through the U.S Army.

 

Dan Wollenberg

Minor:  Business Economics

Dan is a senior at the University of Dayton where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration while majoring in both Accounting and Finance. Dan is a member of the Davis Center’s academic research team, and has been involved with the Davis Center for the entirety of his college career. Dan began 2018 interning for Deloitte’s financial assurance line, auditing REIT and corporate insurance clients during their year-end audits. Immediately following, Dan worked at Citadel from March to August, where he served on the fund’s treasury team. After graduating, Dan will return to Citadel and continue sitting for his CPA exams.
