Business Intelligence

The minor in business intelligence deals with the technologies and techniques for exploring and analyzing structured, unstructured and domain-specific data to discern trends or patterns, thereby deriving insights and reaching conclusions about business performance. Topics include data warehousing and data quality management, online analytical processing (OLAP), data visualization, predictive modeling, data mining, business dashboards and real-time business intelligence, all of which have a wide variety of business applications in accounting, marketing, human resources, finance and operations.

Program Details
Our innovative MIS undergraduate program features a capstone, two-semester analysis and design project with a Dayton area firm. You may also select courses from two MIS minors: business intelligence and cybersecurity management. This hands-on approach prepares you for immediate contribution in the professional world — a skill highly sought by employers.
