Fresh Off The Boat Screening and Talkback

Monday, April 20

Time: 6 p.m. — 8 p.m.

Location: Office of Multicultural Affairs (Alumni 101)

Join us as we watch a couple of episodes of a new sitcom on ABC, ""Fresh Off The Boat,"" the first sitcom to feature an Asian American family since Margaret Cho starred in ""All-American Girl"" which lasted only one season back in 1994. After the screening, share your reactions to the show with other attendees as we have a facilitated discussion about how Asian Americans are portrayed on the show, and in different media at large.

About the show: It’s the '90s and 12 year old, hip-hop loving Eddie just moved to suburban Orlando from DC’s Chinatown with his parents. It’s culture shock for his immigrant family in this comedy about pursuing the American Dream.
