Gender Issues in the Arab World: the Case of Tunisia

Fatma Jabbari, a Tunisian graduate researcher in youth civic engagement will speak on her experiences and the recent changes in the Arab world following th e Arab Revolts, which began in Tunisia in 2010. She has worked for conflict resolution, women's advocacy, and humanitarian aid for refugees in Tunisia, through the organizations Search for Common Ground and Generations for Peace. She is currently a Fulbright foreign language teacher and cultural ambassador at Central State University. A close collaborator with the research project, Youth and political engagement in contemporary Africa, Ms. Jabbari holds a Master's degree in Communications.
