“When I write songs,” says the French-born Francesca Blanchard, “they spring from an emotional pool that almost plucks the chords independently.” Now living in New England, the bi-lingual singer-songwriter draws on her memories of her youth in the south of France: lilting melodies reflect “la vie douce” (“the sweet life”) of those early years. But few lives are ordinary, and her songs reflect the richness of her own experiences (she’s lived with her family in Ethiopia and Burundi on humanitarian missions)—while still acknowledging and embracing the challenges we each face. An emerging talent, her youthful, open approach resonates deeply. The results are irresistible. For tickets, call the Kennedy Union Box Office at 229-2545 or visit
