Ever wonder how composers come up with their music? They are influenced by a whole range of factors—from time and place, to the music of prior composers. Learn more about Akropolis’s “Under the Influence” selections, as well as other examples drawn from past and current music history. This lively pre-concert talk is free, and features University music assistant professor and musicologist Samuel N. Dorf. Enjoy a light reception between the talk and the concert featuring the Akropolis Reed Quintet (ArtsLIVE tickets required for the concert).
