The REAL Dayton is a service learning experience during fall break with elements from alternative breakouts, immersions, and retreats, making this experience unique and inspirational. REAL Dayton involves reaching out, encountering Dayton, acting for others and leading together. Students will be immersed in the city of Dayton to: Learn about Dayton's assets and needs, Dayton culture, Dayton neighbors, etc. Lend a helping hand for our Dayton neighbors Be inspired by those making a difference in Dayton Discover many cultural centers Students will have many opportunities for reflecting, learning, building leadership skills, connecting faith to life, volunteering, and acting for justice. The service projects on REAL Dayton greatly vary; they are selected based on the needs of our community at the time and include serving lunch, sorting food and clothing, assisting at festivals, working in gardens, painting, etc.
