New York City musician and composer Jamie Baum is one of the country’s most celebrated jazz flutists. Having been nominated by the Jazz Journalists Association for “Flutist of the Year“ eight times, she is also known for her “elegantly persuasive composing hand” (Ben Ratliff, The New York Times). Baum will share some of her experiences in a 7 PM pre-concert conversation with jazz pianist (and University of Dayton assistant professor of engineering) Dr. Keigo Hirakawa. Made possible with support from the Cityfolk Jazznet Legacy Endowment.
