The Nativity of Christ is not an isolated event, but rather a union of many events and stations. This year’s festival of crèches explores these events and the stories of those who pondered and pictured the birth of Christ through different cultural lenses. The collections of the University of Dayton’s Marian Library/International Marian Research Institute include thousands of Nativities from around the world. Depicting the story of Christ’s birth and presence, these crèches express Christianity and its influence on the culture and faith of people all over the world.

Enjoy four themed exhibits of Nativities on three floors of Roesch Library. The Seek and Find scavenger hunt, a favorite among attendees young and old, is available at our welcome table in the lobby. Read our printed guidebook as you explore the exhibits to learn more about the symbolism and cultures represented.
