The Department of Music's World Music Choir, directed by Sharon Davis Gratto, helps to commemorate Kristallnacht, "The Night of Broken Glass." Nov. 9, 1938, marked the start of the Holocaust with Nazi-held Germany's program against the Jews. The name comes from the shards of broken window glass that littered the streets after the wide-spread battering of Jewish owned businesses, buildings and synagogues. This candlelight service is held annually on the University campus.
