LGBT/Two-Spirit Native American Activism in the United States and Canada, 1969-2000

Daniel Rivers (Choctaw, OSU) will discuss the history of LGBT Native American activism from the post-Stonewall, liberation era through the development of the two-spirit movement in the 1990s. Topics covered will include the experiences of Native Americans in the gay liberation and lesbian feminist movements; Native American HIV/AIDS activism; and the emergence of the two-spirit movement.
