iDream is an original play by UD alumnae Eileen Trauth and Suzanne Trauth about women in information technology (IT) who are tackling the issues of experiencing, internalizing and overcoming barriers to inclusion in a field where women are significantly underrepresented. The characters, plot and dialogue of the play come from interviews with women working in the IT field who have been marginalized by virtue of gender, ethnicity or socio-economic status. In this staged reading performance, meet high school students confronting an uncertain future: They discover careers that interest them but also encounter barriers to the pursuit of their dreams. There will be a post-performance talkback and reception.

Co-produced by the Theatre, Dance and Performance Technology Program, Hope Road Youth & Community Theatre, the Department of MIS, Operations Management and Decision Sciences in the School of Business Administration, the Women’s and Gender Studies Program, the Women’s Center, the Office of Multicultural Affairs, and the Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network.
