An all-star quartet on a singular mission, this ensemble was specially assembled to play in tribute to the late, great jazz composers and pianists James Williams and Mulgrew Miller. Contemporaries who were favorites of their peers, and Miller and Williams’ paths crossed a gain and again. Here, four musicians with a special affinity and respect for the legacy of Williams and Miller will assemble: Donald Brown (piano), Ray Drummond (bass), Marvin “Smitty” Smith (drums) and Bobby Watson (saxophone). Made possible with support from the Cityfolk Jazznet Legacy fund.
