Title: Existence and Nonexistence of Positive Solutions of Two Point Fractional Boundary Value Problems

Abstract: In this talk, we will study the existence and nonexistence of positive solutions of higher order two point fractional boundary value problems with fractional boundary conditions. After studying properties of the corresponding Green’s function, we will prove, under certain assumptions on a parameter, the existence of positive solutions. Our primary tool with be Krasnosel'skii's fixed point theorem. Then, under different assumptions on the parameter, we will show the nonexistence of positive solutions.

Refreshments are available at 3:00 PM in SC 313F.

The department colloquia are held every Thursday (excluding holidays) at 3:35 pm in room SC 323 unless otherwise noted. All are invited to attend.
