Dr. Susannah Heschel will present the lecture "Prophetic Politics in Modern Jewish Thought" on Tuesday, September 26, at 4 pm in Sears Auditorium. Dr. Heschel is the Eli Black Professor of Jewish Studies at Dartmouth College. Her scholarship focuses on Jewish-Christian relations in Germany during the 19th and 20th centuries, the history of biblical scholarship, and the history of anti-Semitism. Her publications​ include Abraham Geiger and the Jewish Jesus, which won a National Jewish Book Award, and The Aryan Jesus: Christian Theologians and the Bible in Nazi Germany.

Pre-Lecture Conversation:

The Forum for the Catholic Intellectual Tradition Today is hosting a conversation on a Heschel article and interview on Wednesday, September 20, 12:30 to 1:30 in HM 351. This conversation is offered as an opportunity to learn a little more about Dr. Heschel's work.
