Social Practice of Human Rights
09:00 AM - 11:30 PM
Location: UD River Campus

SPHR17 explores challenges to advocacy posed by racism, xenophobia, other forms of extremism, and what Pope Francis has termed “the globalization of indifference.”

This biennial conference will feature four keynote addresses and four plenary dialogues focusing on the need for new strategies to confront three interconnected human rights challenges that have taken on alarming dimensions: conflict and the challenge of peace, forced migration, and modern-day slavery.

The program will also include nearly 100 presentations by scholars and practitioners critically reflecting on the state of human rights advocacy and capturing important trends in human rights research
