Dinner in the Desert Kitchen II: Just Add Water

Friday, December 1

Location: @Index Project Space

Cost:  Free and open to the public

Join University of Dayton students and faculty for an evening of food an art @Index Project Space. Our 2nd annual event will once again raise funds for The Dayton FoodBank. New student photographic works will be available in our silent auction, and small editioned prints will be gifted to those who donate a non-perishable food item (while supplies last).

This year’s exhibition shifts it’s thematic focus from deserts to water, examining issues that include sustainability, environmental justice, visual culture and food systems. Our multi-disciplinary project brings together students from the Department of Art and Design and the Sustainability, Energy and the Environment minor in the spirit of creative and scholarly exploration. While our courses focused on the histories and geographies of New Orleans, China’s Grand Canal and our home of Dayton, Just Add Water uses this vital resource as a broad-ranging symbol that students interpret through diverse scholarly and creative works.
