Campuses continue to face race-related posters and graffiti on college campuses across the nation. Racist slurs, symbols and threats written on walls, student nametags and residence hall doors have inflamed students and administrators on a number of campuses, as have posters advertising the White nationalist movement. Social media has also seen its share of tweets and posts demonstrating discrimination and hate.

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion is sponsoring a webinar featuring Dr. Jamie Washington – the nationally renowned President and Founder of the Washington Consulting Group and the President and a Founder of the Social Justice Training Institute – on January 23, 2018. In just 90 minutes, you and your staff will gain a framework for examining campus bigotry; effective tools for educating students and staff on how they can be engaged on topics of social justice; and how to respond in today’s age of transparency, both quickly and aggressively.

You must be able to address issues of race on campus in a way that encourages respectful dialogue and engagement. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Dr. Washington share his expertise on this topic.

Rev. Dr. Jamie Washington is the President & Founder of the Washington Consulting Group (WCG). In October of 2015, WCG was named by the Economist as one of the Top 10 Global Diversity Consultants in the world. He is the President and Co-Founder of the Social Justice Training Institute and the Vice President and President Elect of the American College Personnel Association (ACPA).

There will be a conversation after the webinar led by Ms. Tiffany Taylor Smith, Executive Director for Professional Development Education.
