Wear RED for Women's Heart Health

Did you know that heart disease is the #1 cause of death for women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year? That’s approximately one woman every minute!Heart disease doesn’t affect all women alike, and the warning signs for a heart attack in women women aren’t the same in men. The Go Red For Women campaign advocates for more research and swifter action for women’s heart health for this very reason.
That's why on Friday, February 2, the Women's Center and Campus Recreation are asking you to wear red to promote women's heart health!

Men and women alike can experience the well-known heart attack symptoms like gripping chest pains and breaking out in a cold sweat. But women can also have subtler, less recognizable symptoms such as pain or discomfort in the stomach, jaw, neck or back, nausea and shortness of breath. 
Do your heart good with a healthy diet and regular physical activity.
