A unique opportunity for minorities, women, and socially and economically disadvantaged businesses and individuals to connect with procurement officials and employers from the State of Ohio and more. Participants include State of Ohio agencies, several state universities, regional transit authorities and several private construction firms.
Job seekers: explore career opportunities with recruiters from 45+ government agencies and/or attend workshops.
Business owners: network with procurement officials from 40+ government agencies, learn about MBE, EDGE, DBE certification programs and/or attend workshops.
Construction trades: learn about apprenticeship programs and explore opportunities with trade unions and construction managers.
Women in International Security: Next Generation Symposium
November 12-16, 2017
This five-day symposium will examine international security challenges from a gender perspective and bring together 24 graduate students in Washington D.C. The symposium will feature lectures and seminar discussions as well as professional development and skills training. All costs of travel and accommodation will be covered by WIIS.
Selection is based on a competitive application process. WIIS will invite 24 applicants to participate in the program. Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Masters or PhD program, be between the ages of 25-40 and be fluent in spoken and written English. All genders are welcomed to apply.
Application Requirements: Google Form Application, Resume, a high-resolution picture, letter of interest addressing: why the applicant is interested, how the applicant's background would contribute to the symposium and how the symposium would enhance the applicant's future career foals, 2 references directly submitted to NextGenerationSymposium@wiisglobal.org (subject line should read: Reference 2017 NGS: applicant's last name).
