Experience tomorrow, today – jet to China for 6 weeks during the first summer session. At the University of Dayton China Institute, you’ll gain an international perspective for today’s job market. As you learn from UD professors, international professionals and prominent leaders in innovation, you’ll advance your résumé – and enrich your future career.

To be accepted to the program, you must complete our free online application, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 and be in good behavioral and academic standing. Applicants who have less than a 2.50 cumulative GPA will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please discuss study plans with your academic adviser before applying to the program.

Program Dates

The summer 2017 program will take place from May 11 – June 25, 2017 (summer session 1).

You will fly from the U.S. to Shanghai and end with a trip to Beijing from June 22- 25. Students will depart Beijing on June 25 and arrive in the United States on the same day due to the time change.


Program Cost

We live and work in a world without borders, and employers are looking for global leaders. We want to help you gain a global experience – and an edge in the workplace. That’s why we are providing a $3,000 travel scholarship that will be applied to the total program cost to help cover some of the cost of your education abroad experience.

  • Total Program Cost: $15,500

  • Scholarship: $3,000

  • Net Program Cost: $12,500 (includes 9-11 credit hours of tuition, airfare, Chinese visa costs, housing, program transportation and tours/excursions).
