Profile

Dr. Palermo came to the University of Dayton in 1971 and is currently professor emeritus in the Department of History. He served the University in various capacities, including the founding director of the University Honors Program and associate provost, where he took a leadership role in many University initiatives. Dr. Palermo is deeply involved in the Dayton community, serving on numerous boards for cultural and service organizations. He has had published a variety of pieces on higher education, American political culture and community formation and progressivism.
