Personal History

Father Jim is a Marianist priest and University Chaplain at UD. During his years as a Marianist Father Jim has lived and ministered in a number of countries on four continents, working in high school ministry, religious formation, and as a spiritual director and retreat director. Father Jim does speak Spanish and hears confessions and gives Spiritual Direction in Spanish.

He has a master's degree in Christian Spirituality from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, a Master's of Divinity degree from the University of St. Michael's College in Toronto, and a Doctor of Ministry degree with a specialization in spirituality from the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Father Jim is an experienced Spiritual Director and director of individually Directed Retreats. He also teaches an introductory course in Spiritual Direction and Pastoral Care in the graduate religious studies program at UD. He also ministers as priest and Spiritual Director through the Office of Campus Ministry. When time allows Father Jim loves to pull out his road bike and hit the Ohio trails!
