Undergraduate opportunities

  • Dayton Early College Academy (DECA): Innovative community school sponsored by Dayton Public Schools and operated by the University of Dayton. Its singular focus is preparing urban students to attend and succeed in college. In 2008, US News & World Report awarded DECA a bronze medal in its second annual ranking of America's Best High Schools. DECA serves as a demonstration school for University of Dayton students who are studying adolescent to young adult education (AYA).

Graduate opportunities

  • Lalanne Program: Post-graduate teacher service program that specializes in supporting beginning Catholic school educators by combining service and teaching. Lalanne teachers make a two-year commitment to teach in an under-resourced Catholic school. They live together in a faith-based community, and pursue professional as well as spiritual and personal development.
  • Graduate assistantships: Available in several departments within the School of Education and Health Sciences.
  • Gunzburger Graduate Student Scholarship: The Department of Teacher Education invites applications for the Dr. Linda Gunzburger Graduate Student Scholarship. This scholarship was established to benefit graduate students who are practicing teachers and who are pursuing a Master's Degree in the Department of Teacher Education, School of Education and Health Sciences. Check back for information about how to apply.
