What is the fund?

The John R. Schleppi Sport Management Career Enhancement Fund was established to recognize Dr. Schleppi's contribution and leadership role in the University of Dayton's Sport Management program, created in 1986.

This fund assists a student in making the transition from college studies to the post-graduate world and is to be used to attend professional conferences. These opportunities provide students with experience and offer excellent networking platforms as they begin looking for jobs after graduation.

A panel of seniors will choose the winner based on how he or she conveys why the conference was selected and how to leverage the experience. The annual award will be in the amount of $1,500. Two runners-up will receive $500 and $250.

The Schleppi Fund has raised nearly $100,000 thus far from the efforts of Sport Management students.

Fund criteria

This fund is given to a non-graduating Sport Management student and is to be used to fund conference participation. The individual must demonstrate a desire to enhance his/her education.
