Giving Angels 2017

On Dec. 11, 2017, boxes of Christmas gifts were delivered to children at St. Benedict the Moor, Mother Brunner, and Immaculate Conception Schools as part of the Giving Angels program. This is the tenth year ECHO has partnered with Hannah’s Treasure Chest for Giving Angels, which helps families who are at or below the poverty level to have a brighter Christmas. Each child ECHO sponsors receives four new gifts of clothing, toys, and books. By the end of the day, 56 families had picked up gifts for 137 children.

ECHO also works with several community resources to supply Christmas gifts, food, and other items to families that are dealing with economic challenges. An additional 29 families and 92 children were served with the help of the Immaculate Conception Church Giving Tree, Catholic Social Services Holiday-Help-A-Family, and private donors.

Thank you to the volunteers at Hannah’s Treasure Chest, and many local businesses and Miami Valley residents who contributed their time, talent, and treasure. A special thank you to ECHO Family Advocate Michelle Sherman, whose energy, coordination, and resourcefulness allowed us to help a grand total of 85 families and 229 children.
