Jackson (MI) community

Michigan iconIn December 2010, the Diocese of Lansing published a report entitled Maintenance to Mission, which outlined the Diocese's vision for transforming its Catholic schools into “outstanding centers of education and formation.” In Spring 2011, Lalanne began discussions with the superintendent and associate superintendent to help them realize this vision by bringing Lalanne to Michigan.

The first Lalanne cohort to serve the Diocese of Lansing began teaching in 2012. Two community houses were opened that August - one in Flint and one in Lansing. Four teachers lived at the Flint community house, and three teachers lived at the community house in Lansing. Two years later (August 2014), Lalanne closed the Flint community because 3 of the 4 original teachers placed there wanted to continue in those schools after finishing Lalanne. Starting with the 2014-15 school year, Lalanne's focus shifted to filling the Lansing community house.

In 2017, the community house relocated to Jackson, MI, where Lalanne has established partnerships with the Jackson Catholic schools, while still serving in Charlotte.
