Raymond L. Fitz Hall

The faculty & staff of the School of Education and Health Sciences are located in Raymond L. Fitz Hall. The building is named for Brother Raymond L. Fitz, S.M., the 17th (and longest-serving) president in UD's history (1979-2002).

Christ the Teacher statueOutside the main entrance to Fitz Hall is the statue "Christ the Teacher," which was installed in March 2016. It was designed by Joseph Aspell, a 1968 alumnus. According to this article, Aspell's other works on the University of Dayton campus include statues of Mary, William Joseph Chaminade, and Joseph carrying a young Jesus.

Parking at Fitz Hall

UD parking passes are required to park in the lots adjacent to Fitz Hall. Visit the Parking Services website for more information.

Building access

You will need a current University of Dayton ID (FlyerCard) to enter Fitz Hall, and to use the building's elevators.

Facilities in Fitz Hall

In addition to classroom & study spaces, students in the School of Education and Health Sciences use multiple facilities located through throughout Fitz Hall, including (but not limited to):

  • Brown Street Bistro: This on-campus dining facility (fifth floor) offers a variety of specialty salads & sandwiches. For hours of operation, click here.
  • Cadaver Lab: The Doctor of Physical Therapy space (second floor) includes a cadaver laboratory where graduate and undergraduate students gain a firsthand understanding of human anatomy.
  • Curriculum Materials Center: This resource center/library facility (sixth floor) lends professional and practical teaching materials.
  • ProduceOne Food & Nutrition Laboratory: Students in the dietetics program use the ProduceOne Food & Nutrition Laboratory (fifth floor). This state-of-the-art facility offers opportunities for students to develop key skills for their future profession in dietetics.
