Active Shooter Emergency Information
Incidents of violence in workplaces, high schools, colleges, and universities have elevated safety concerns to a level never before experienced in the United States. University of Dayton Police have received specialized training to respond to active shooters or other incidents involving violent attacks. The City of Dayton Police and other police agencies would also be called to respond should such an incident occur on UD's campus.
The University of Dayton has also implemented physical security measures to reduce threats and continuously evluates security and safety measures to enhance the safety of our campus community.
You as an individual are the most important element in helping to prevent and effectively respond to critical incidents. Students, faculty and staff should always be aware of their surroundings and immediately report any suspicious persons, activities, vehicles, or objects that appear to be unusual or out of place.
