3+2 Program for International Students

Application Requirements

  • Students must do the following to be considered for the 3+2 Program :
  • Complete six semesters of undergraduate study
  • Submit online application (Click here to apply through the University of Dayton's undergraduate application portal).
  • Send official transcript from attending university (in language of original issue)
  • Supply proof of English proficiency
  • F-1 and J-1 Visa applicants must provide a letter of financial support and a bank statement showing sufficient funds to cover the first year of study (original documents only).

Language Proficiency Requirement

the following documents are accepted as proof of language proficiency:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) — A minimum score of 70 on the Internet-based test is required for full admission (Please use the University of Dayton's institution code 1834 when requesting TOEFL score from Educational Testing Service (ETS).
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) — A minimum band score of 6.0 is required for full admission. 
  • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) — A minimum score of 55 is required for full admission. 
  • English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT) — A minimum score of 956 is required for full admission. 
  • Advanced Placement International English Language Examination (APIEL) — A minimum score of three (3) is required for full admission. 

Application Timeline

The University of Dayton's calendar year is divided into three terms. However, 3+2 program candidates can only be admitted for the fall term. If admitted, please arrive on campus by August 15th for required UD orientation. 

This is a rolling admission process. Since there is a cap to the number of students who are able to participate in the 3+2 program, it is suggested that candidates apply early to receive a decision early. 

An optional Summer Innovation Course is available. If you are interested, please contact us as soon as possible.

How to Expedite the Process

  • To expedite the application process you can scan the required documents and email them to goglobal@udayton.edu. Once the department has received all required documents, the application will be reviewed. You will receive an official letter from the University of Dayton's Admission Office indicating admission status and the amount of tuition, if admitted.
