ETHOS Dayton Semester of Service

Application for ETHOS Dayton Semester of Service Spring 2018
Administered by: School of Engineering The ETHOS Center

The ETHOS Dayton Semester of Service Program aims to encourage growth through experiential learning, creation of intentional community and support from local agencies. The semester and summer programs require students to take time off from traditional academic study in order to participate in service-learning projects in social service agencies throughout the City of Dayton. The goal of Semester of Service is to expand the worldview of participants and empower them through experience and knowledge to become lifelong advocates for social change.

You will not be attending classes during the Semester of Service except for the weekly mini-course (3 credits), which accompanies the experience. The summer program requires community living.

To apply, you must consult with your academic adviser to make sure Semester of Service fits within your academic plan. We encourage you to seek three to six additional credits earned through internship/independent study with prior approval from the department chairperson of your field of study.

The University of Dayton does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion, political affiliation or disability if an applicant is otherwise qualified.
