    The purpose of AEDB is to implement policies, programs, and projects in the field of alternative and renewable energy, such as wind, solar, biomass. By doing so, they hope to develop sustainable economic growth for their people.

    Appropriate Infrastructure Development Group (AIDG) - Quetzalenango, Guatemala

    AIDG helps individuals and communities receive affordable and environmentally sound access to electricity, sanitation and clean water. Through a combination of business incubation, education, and outreach, they give people the opportunity to use technology that will better their health and improve their lives.

    Asociación Maya-Mam de Investigación y Desarrollo (AMMID) - Comitancillo, Guatemala

    AMMID is a non-profit organization whose members live in the Comitancillo area of Guatemala. The NGO is managed and staffed by Mayan people from the Mam culture. It was established in 1997 to facilitate the development of self-sufficiency of its members. AMMID serves as a center for training, research and community projects.

    Auroville Consulting - Auroville, India 

    Founded in 2010, Auroville Consulting provides strategic planning and monitoring services for corporate and government initiatives to realize the vision of sustainable habitats.

    Blue Rock Station - Philo, Ohio

    Blue Rock's goal is to demonstrate a series of alternative building techniques and sustainable ways of living. Projects at the station include earthship buildings, straw bale structures, cord wood structures and much more. Blue Rock also has a series of garden projects.

    Burn Design Lab (BDL) - Vashon Island, Washington

    BDL is an improved cookstove research institution with experience in numerous types of home and institutional biomass fueled cookstoves.  BDL combines design and lab testing, field testing in different countries, and local manufacturing to develop their products for a more sustainable tomorrow.

    CECAM Bolivia - Cochabamba, Bolivia

    CECAM Bolivia is an organization dedicated to the sustainable development of the most vulnerable segments of the Bolivian population. We do this by conducting research before applying and disseminating the most efficient, healthy, and appropriate technologies to those in need.

    College Chaminade - Kara, Togo

    Chaminade College is an educational institution run by the Marianist religious since 1958. The school is dedicated to help keep the environment clean and healthy while educating the whole person.

    Dominica Manufacturer’s Accociation (DMA) - Roseau, Dominica

    The Dominica Manufacturer’s Association represents the interest of all manufacturing companies in Dominica, many of which are small scale producers of regional products such as soap, coconut oil, furniture, and shoes.  

    Ecofogao - Belo Horizonte, Brazil

    Ecofogao originated from an NGO called Prolena, but now seeks to manufacture efficient and clean woodstoves at an affordable cost.

    Fudan University - Shanghai, China 

    Established in 1905, Fudan University consists of 28 schools and departments with 70 undergraduate disciplines. With an enrollment of 26,362 students, Fudan seeks to cultivate more all-around talents for modern China.

    The mission of Grupo Fenix is to contribute to the well-being of rural communities, creating an awareness of sustainable lifestyles through technical and cultural exchange, research in the field of renewable energy, and advocacy of sustainable technologies.

    Heart to Honduras is a holistic organization centered in Christ with the goal to address the Spiritual and Physical needs of the poor in Honduras and beyond.

    Hilawe - Peter, Ethiopia

    Hilawe seeks to provide holistic support for orphan and vulnerable children, economically empower underprivileged families, and prevent and control the spread of HIV/AIDS through various programs.

    Institute of Integrated Rural Development (IIRD) - Dhaka, Bangladesh

    IIRD's vision is of a strong and united village society with respect for all members offering a high standard of life for all. Their goal is to eradicate poverty by implementing social and economic programs and protecting their local environment.

    Instituto Chaminade - Callao, Peru

    The Instituto Chaminade Marianistas is a post-secondary technical school which offers a three year career program in Information Communication Technologies (ICT) and a variety of additional extension courses. The mission of the Institute is to promote the development of youth, preferentially the poor from Callao, according to the Marianist educational principles. Thereby increasing employment possibilities by way of a quality integrated technical formation and insertion into the labor market.

    Long Branch Environmental Education Center (LBEEC) - Asheville, North Carolina

    LBEEC is a small educational institute for sharing positive strategies of sustainability and local self-reliance in the areas of environmental design, organic food production, renewable energy, appropriate technology, resource conservation, recycling, wildlife protection, ecological restoration, and improved environmental quality.

    MAEVE – Lilongwe, Malawi

    MAEVE’s mission is to mitigate climate change in rural Malawi through the dissemination of fuel efficient technologies. MAEVE distributes life and forest-saving stoves and farming technologies with sustainable financing from the carbon markets.

    Maji Zuwa - Chilumba, Malawi

    Maji Zuwa is a lodge run by a University of Dayton Alumni, Matthew Maroon, striving to build working relationships with the local population and visitors. Maji Zuwa and its partners work to lift the people of Malawi out of poverty using their own abilities and talents rather than hand-outs.

    Marianist Volunteers’ Program DECAMP - Uxpanapa Valley, Mexico

    Based in the Marianist tradition, DECAMP connects volunteers with local Mexicans through service-based work projects. In doing so, they hope to offer authentic immersion opportunities that deepen people’s understanding of the world.

    Minvayu - Auroville, India

    Minvayu designs, builds, and sells affordable small wind turbines for people living in rural India. They also offer training programs for village mechanics, manufacturers, and trainers. Their goal is to make electricity more accessible to 98 million rural Indians using the wind.

    Nkong Hilltop Common Initiative Group (NCIG) - Buea, Cameroon

    NCIG is a non-profit, non-governmental community-based organization operating since 1996. They work to improve the socio-economic status of their community.

    Organization of Sustainable Rural Infrastructure (OSRI) - Kumba, Cameroon

    OSRI is an organization in South West Cameroon which specializes in technical planning and execution of community based infrastructure projects such as rural water supplies, bridges, and roads.

    Otonga Foundation - Ecuador

    The Otonga Foundation is an organization that works to protect the environment, biodiversity, and education in regions of the cloud forests of Ecuador.

    Prolena - La Paz, Bolivia

    Prolena is a small engineering company located in the capital city of Bolivia. The company is dedicated to the development of rocket stoves, wood dryers, and other types of appropriate technology.

    Rural Development Center (RUDEC) - Kumba, Cameroon

    RUDEC started in 2001 in the South West Region of Cameroon to fight the suffering of vulnerable children in the communities, to support women who had their rights violated, and to care for the environment. The co-founders realized that by focusing on the needs of rural people, a center such as RUDEC could empower and benefit local communities.

    Solar Alternative and Associated Programmes - Patna, India

    SAAP is a registered NGO committed to environmental protection and empowerment of the downtrodden. It is a venture undertaken by the Jesuits. The organization uses science and technology to try and serve humanity especially the underprivileged sections of society by providing pollution free and widely available sources of energy.

    Suni Solar - Managua, Nicaragua 

    As a company, Suni Solar promotes the marvelous resource of the sun in areas where the electric grid does not reach. Their work confronts many challenges due to the process of reaching these areas requires a lot of effort.     Sunlit Future is an integrated service provider bringing high quality renewable energy solutions to both rural and urban India. Based in southern India, they focus on experimentation and research on solar photovoltaic and thermal technologies and products

    University of Dayton Summer Appalachia Program (UDSAP) - Salyersville, Kentucky 

    UDSAP is another service program at the University of Dayton which focuses on living and working in solidarity with the people of Appalachia. The program stems from UD’s Catholic and Marianist heritage of building a strong faith community, sharing prayer, and doing service for others.

    Wattmon – Auroville, India

    As a product, Wattmon is a versatile and user friendly device that performs data logging, automation, and remote monitoring. As a company, Wattmon seeks to use this technology in various applications for energy conservation. Some of these applications are: solar monitoring, wind monitoring, water pumping, and home automation.

    Xingu Mission - Porto de Moz, Brazil

    Xingu Mission is a non-denominational, charitable organization that has been serving the people of the Xingu region for over 15 years.
