METEC: Minority Engineering and Technology Enrichment Camp for Young Men

Tuition: $200
Eligibility: METEC is open to minority high school men who will be seniors in the fall. You must be a U.S. citizen and enrolled in a college-preparatory program with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Engineering will come alive this summer on the University of Dayton campus — and you can be part of the action at METEC. Minority high school males who will be seniors in the fall are invited to this weeklong program where they will:

  • Conduct a variety of hands-on engineering experiments with University professors, graduate students and industry professionals.
  • Build the skills needed to conquer the ACT and SAT.
  • Get acquainted to college life with engineering students from the UD chapters of the National Society of Black Engineers and Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.
  • Visit engineering and research firms including the Air Force Research Laboratory at nearby Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, one of the largest U.S. Air Force installations in the world.
  • Learn about career paths, get tips for college success, and engage in social and recreational activities while at the University of Dayton!

Application Information

  • Applications are accepted via online application or mail-in (For mail-in, please contact us.).
  • A $50 deposit, which will be applied to the cost of camp, is required with your application to reserve your space at camp.
  • Upon being accepted into the camp, you will be contacted and provided with final registration forms along with instructions for completing payment.

Your $200 tuition fee covers a double-occupancy room, all meals and camp events. Students should consider bringing spending money for snacks, personal items, games and shopping in the UD Bookstore. You are responsible for transportation to and from camp. Personal vehicles are not permitted to remain on campus during camp.
