Degreeworks

List of academic requirements to complete degree. Students are responsible to monitor their Degreeworks and to track their academic progress toward their degree. There are options within Degreeworks to do a “what if” for a new major, adding a minor and looking at what requirements future classes might satisfy. There is also an option to print an unofficial transcript. Degreeworks assists in determining courses for registration. A link to Degreeworks can be found on Porches, under Flyers Student Services.

Common Academic Program for Engineering

  1. The Common Academic Program serves as the foundation of a UD education and is a learning experience that is shared in common among all undergraduate students at UD.
  2. First and second year courses in Religious studies (REL 103), Philosophy (PHL 103), History (HST 103), Communication (CMM 100) and English (ENG 100, ENG 200) create a foundation for student learning in the rest of the Common Academic Program.
  3. The Social Science (SSC 200) course is a theme-based course that varies across sections but shares common learning outcomes.
  4. The remaining 4 courses (Arts, Advanced History and 2 classes in Advanced Religion or Philosophy) will allow the students to deepen their knowledge and guide them to lead wise and ethical lives of leadership and service. These 4 courses must also satisfy 5 additional CAP components which give the students an even broader view of the world. These are Faith Traditions, Practical Ethical Action, Inquiry, Integrative, and Diversity and Social Justice. The selection of these 4 remaining courses is critical to the completion of the Common Academic Program. The Office of Student Success has developed the following worksheets for engineering students to use as a guide to completing CAP.
    1. CEE CAP Worksheet
    2. CME CAP Worksheet
    3. ECE CAP Worksheet
    4. MEE CAP Worksheet
    5. SET CAP Worksheet
