Professional Liability Insurance

Professional Liablity Insurance is also known as Errors and Omissions Insurance.  The policy provides defense and damages for failure to or improperly rendering professional services. General liability policy does not provide this protection. Professionals, public officials, directors, and officers all make decisions on which others rely, becoming susceptible to lawsuits for errors or omissions.

UD's Professional Liability Insurance also covers students enrolled in the following disciplines.

  • Music Therapy
  • Physician Assistant Program
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy
  • Teacher Education

Students enrolled in disciplines not mentioned above are responsible for purchasing their own Professional Liability Insurance. Professional Liability Insurance may be purchased through any insurance agent.  However, we have directed students under similar circumstances to Healthcare Providers Service Organization at http://www.hpso.com/. The cost is reasonable.
