What to Take

All personal belongings must be removed from the house/apartment. Houses may not be used for storage. The University is not responsible for any personal property left in houses.

Clean-up crews are scheduled to clean out houses as soon as they are vacated. Any items left in houses will be removed. Removal charges will be assessed for removal of any non-University items (i.e. sofas, chairs, boxes, trash, posters, food items, dishes, etc.).

Personal Storage

The University is not responsible for student personal property of student residents. Please be sure to take your belongings with you when you depart.

Should you need to ship personal items, please contact either the UD Bookstore or another local shipping company. Local Storage companies are also available for storage of personal belongings. You may look in the phone book for local storage companies.

Inspections

Houses will be inspected in May to assess any damages, furnishing inventory and cleanliness. Letters will be sent to each resident detailing charges to their accounts prior to June 8 of the current year.

  • Return all furniture to the original position at the time of your arrival (i.e. bedroom furniture to the bedroom, etc.).

  • Remove all trash from the entire house.
