Application Tips

You will learn a lot from the fellowship process--many students comment on how helpful applying for fellowships is in their future applications to graduate school and in understanding themselves better.

With a full course load you might think applying for fellowships and scholarships will be overwhelming. Although the application process is often extensive, the University’s Office of Fellowship Advising can assist with any questions you may have along the way. Before beginning an application, be sure to review our general advice for applicants, tips for obtaining a strong recommendation letter and writing an effective personal statement.

Student Information for Fellowship Applications

We are glad you are interested in applying for a National Fellowship! Please complete the form below to help us learn more about you and determine for which awards you may be eligible. Once you have submitted this form, please make an appointment with the Associate Director in the Office of Fellowship Advising, located in the University Honors Program. *Please note National Fellowship applicants do not need to be a member of the University Honors Program to apply.

The student information form is a helpful tool for the Office of Fellowship Advising, as well as for those writing recommendations in support of your scholarship application. Think of this as a type of résumé, but one specifically designed to help your recommenders be very specific in writing letters for you.
