2024 Open Enrollment

It’s time to make your elections for healthcare, dental, flexible spending accounts and health savings account, for the 2024 plan year.

Beginning Tuesday, October 24, 2023, you will need to login to the Benefit Focus enrollment platform to make your elections or waive coverage for the 2024 plan year.  Information regarding the plans and premium rates is available on the HR website under the Open Enrollment link. To make your elections, go to the HR page in Porches and click on the Benefit Focus button in the blue HR Self-Service section to be taken directly to the platform to make your elections for 2024. Open enrollment will end on Monday, November 6 at 4:30 p.m. Note: No changes will be accepted after this time.

Again, this year, all employees must elect or waive benefit coverage regardless of whether you are making changes to your coverage. You must answer the tobacco use question and spousal coverage question (if applicable) each year or you will be assessed the appropriate surcharges.

IMPORTANT: When using the online platform to make your Open enrollment elections, please be sure that you are changing 2024 benefits not Current benefits. As you navigate through the enrollment platform, please be sure to save your elections each time you are prompted to do so. You will be asked to complete your enrollment at the end. This is a critical step and will save your completed elections for 2024.  Once complete, you will receive an email confirming your elections. If you do not receive a confirmation email, you have missed a step and will need to go back into the enrollment platform and save all of your elections.

You may also make your elections via the mobile app for the Benefit Focus platform. Simply download the app from the app store on your device and login using company code: udayton. You will be asked to use two-factor authentication (2FA) to securely access your information. You may then make all of your open enrollment elections on your mob ile device. For further information go to the Benefit Focus app.

Information to assist you with making decisions for 2024 is available in by choosing your benefit category in the right hand navigation links.  Comparison tools for the healthcare plans are also available within the Benefit Focus platform.  Please be sure to review the information carefully before making your elections.  When entering or reviewing covered dependents, please be sure to enter their legal name as shown on their social security card.  Please carefully review your plan elections to be sure that you have included all of your eligible dependents.

New Vendor for 2024!

Effective January 1, 2024, the University will be transitioning two benefits to a new provider in order to provide employees with the advantage of coordination of both the Medical Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and the Health Savings Account (HSA) for those enrolled in the CDHP healthcare plan as well as the Dependent Care Spending Account. Our new partner for both the FSA and HSA plans will be Voya Financial (pdf). This new partnership will provide the ability to use just one debit card for both types of plans if enrolled. You will no longer need separate cards for the FSA and HSA plans. The cards will utilize smart technology to pull the funds from the appropriate account first.  There are no changes to the plans themselves.
