Morgan, Name Origins

Morgan, Name Origins

Q: Is Morgan a derivation of Mary?

A: The name Morgan doesn't have any Marian connection. It is originally Welsh and is variously translated as "seadweller," "by the sea," and "seaman." Moil or mor refer to sea, while gan has the meaning of "bringing forth."
