Festivals & Receptions

The Center for International Programs, in collaboration with others, hosts several festivals and social gatherings throughout the year to celebrate the cultures represented in our community and create space for intercultural engagement. 


CultureFestCelebrate diversity. Celebrate You. CultureFest celebrates the many cultures and diverse backgrounds found across campus. The event includes internationally themed food, music, dance and demonstrations. Be a part of this campus-wide cultural celebration!

"Friends Of" Receptions

Friends Of receptions“Friends Of" receptions are hosted throughout the fall and spring semester, each with a theme from Latin America, Middle East, Africa or Asia.  These informal receptions are hosted in KU Torch Lounge for students, staff and faculty with an interest or affiliation to these areas of the world.

Sponsored by the Center for International Programs, the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion.

Harvest Potluck

Harvest PotluckDid you learn how to make a new international dish after studying abroad or are you an international student that wants to share food from your culture with the community? The Harvest Potluck brings people together to enjoy an international cuisine competition.  Winners are judged on the basis of appearance, aroma, flavor and texture.

The 2014 Harvest Potluck takes place on Saturday, November 1, from 12 to 3 p.m. in McGinnis.

Intercultural Talent Show

Intercultural Talent ShowThe Intercultural Talent Show, held in the fall semester, allows both American and international students to share their culture's heritage through dancing, singing, rap, poetry and more. Come and witness the amazing talents of University of Dayton students in this entertaining and culturally enlightening experience brought to you by the Center for International Programs and the Office of Multicultural Affairs. 

The 2014 Intercultural Talent Show will be held on Sunday, September 28, at 7 p.m. in the Kennedy Union Boll Theatre.

International Festival

International FestivalThe 2015 International Festival features performances by students, a live fashion show, and delicious food from a variety of regions of the world on Saturday, March 14, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the RecPlex. Booths allow for a better look at the cultures of UD’s international students. Co-organized by the Center for International Programs, Recplex, and University of Dayton International Clubs.
