A partner in the San Francisco office of the international law firm of Keller and Heckman LLP, Daniel Herling focuses his trial practice on product liability with an emphasis on pharmaceuticals and medical devices, commercial litigation, antitrust, including class actions, intellectual property litigation, patent infringement and professional liability.

Herling also heads Multilaws' (a Multinational Association of Independent Law Firms) international dispute resolution/litigation section and serves as deputy chair for the Americas. He is active in the Defense Research Institute, serving as former chair of the Professional Liability Committee, and is a member of the Drug and Medical Device Committee. He has been named as a recipient of the International Who's Who of Product Liability Defense Lawyers.

Involved in the San Francisco community, he is a member of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and chairs its International Committee, and also sits on the board of the San Francisco School Volunteers.

Herling recently retired from the United States Navy Reserve after 25 years of service.
