Job Description

Tutors are UD undergraduate students who facilitate sessions, attend trainings and regularly scheduled team meetings, maintain a professional attitude, and observe all office procedures. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Offer a minimum of 3 hours of availability for appointments; 
  • Effectively utilize inquiry-based learning to facilitate student learning; 
  • Assist clients with academic material and content; 
  • Refer students to campus resources as needed; 
  • Conduct, record, and integrate what is observed in peer sessions; 
  • Research and develop instructional approaches in your discipline to archive for later use by peers; 
  • Exercise attention to detail when inputting data for TutorTrac and Payroll; 
  • Attend and participate in all trainings and team meetings; and 
  • Report to Program Coordinator and Tutor Managers.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 3 Recommendations from faculty of courses you wish to support using this form
  • Eagerness to learn and apply new instructional methods; 
  • Dependable work ethic; 
  • Close attention to detail with data entry; 
  • Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment; 
  • Strong ability to work independently; and 
  • Excellent communication skills. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Minimum GPA of 3.3 in courses you wish to support; 
  • Tutoring experience; and
  • Commitment to making Tutoring your second highest priority after academics.
