Flooding Leaves Our Brothers and Sisters in South Asia Suffering

WHAT IS GOING ON?

Our brothers and sisters in South Asia are also suffering from devastating flooding. In recent weeks, a combination of overwhelming rainfall and historic flooding has impacted nearly 41 million people, according to estimates by the UN. People in Bangladesh, India, and Nepal are experiencing displacement and have been forced to watch their schools, hospitals, and buildings be destroyed by historic flooding and landslides. The BBC reports that upwards of 1,200 people have lost their lives.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Pray. Join us in praying for all those impacted by the rains in South Asia, especially keeping in mind that environmental injustice wreaks the most havoc on the most marginalized among us.

Learn more. Visit these articles from the BBC and Buzzfeed to see photographs and read more.

Donate. Consider making a donation to Save the Children in order to aide in relief efforts.

Quote of the Week

We must never undervalue any person. The workman loves not that his work should be despised in his presence. Now God is present everywhere, and every person is His work.”
