New Exhibition Opens

"Tempus Incognitum" features paintings and drawings by Jason Franz and Amy Williams McLaren.

The exhibition "Tempus Incognitum: Paintings and Drawings by Jason Franz and Amy Williams McLaren" is now on display in the University of Dayton's Rike Center Gallery through Oct. 27.

Cincinnati native Jason Franz, currently on leave from his position as head of the painting and drawing programs at Xavier University to write a book, also has taught at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and the University of Cincinnati. He earned his bachelor of arts from the Art Academy of Cincinnati and his master of arts from the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning. Franz also has worked at the Cincinnati Art Museum and served as executive director of Manifest, a nonprofit arts organization he co-founded in 2004. He is the recipient of numerous grants and awards.

Amy Williams McLaren resides in Rochester, N.Y., where she has her studio and teaches at the Rochester Institute of Technology.  She earned her undergraduate degree in English and received her master of fine arts in painting from Rochester Institute of Technology. She is represented by the Oxford Gallery in Rochester.

Rike Center Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. The gallery is closed on weekends.
